Remember that UK Law requires your car to be fitted with tyres with a minimum thread of 1.6mm. For safety reasons it is recommended that you replace your tyres before this limit is reached. Leading motoring organisations suggest 2mm, and many vehicle manufacturers recommend 3mm.
A regular check will help you avoid 3 penalty points and a £2500 fine — per tyre!
Pit Stop will check your wheel balance too. When your wheels are incorrectly balanced, you will experience vibration at certain speeds. A tyre is out of balance when one section of the tyre is heavier than the others. One ounce of imbalance on a front tyre is enough to cause noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at 60 mph.
